How to Calculate Cement, Sand, Aggregate Quantity in our Home Staircase Design by using this ways



Hai Guys, welcome to you all in our website www.piyaengineering.com. today we are going to discuss about how to Calculate quantity of cement , sand , aggregate in our home staircase. but first of all, we must understand that what is the exact meaning of staircase and how many components acts on it to be make a perfect staircase.

Staircase means that the combinations of steps which can be used to be move upward or downward from one floor level to another floor level which plays an important role in our building home. the design of staircase must be in correct form sothat it makes the staircase safe and comfortable. there are some componets of staircase we must have known before starting the design of stairs which are given as follows. mainly the components are treads, risers, nosing, landing, angle, vertical distance and horizontal distance which are given as the above picture as well.

Tread means that the horizontal section of the steps where our foots laid on it.sometimes it is called run and this is the part you step on move upward or move downward. the width of thread is maximum upto 12 inch and minimum value upto 10 inch. about riser, riser is the vertical section of steps which acts between every treads on staircase. it can also be referred as the height of the staircase. the maximum height of riser should be 7 inch and minimum height of riser must be 4 inch.

Now, Let's start the Design Calculation so first of all we will tell you about this staircase design which is shown in above whose dimensions are below.
According to the above staircase design, The height of the stairecase ( H ) = 10ft
and these are some steps which are laid on the waist slab and we have taken a copy of one step section whose dimensions are as in below.
Riser of One step ( R ) = 6" = 0.5'
Tread of One step ( T ) = 12" = 1.0'
Length of weist slab ( L ) = 21' 6 " = 21.5'
Breadth of Staircase ( B ) = 4'             
Those dimensions are shown in aboove the staircase picture. now first of all we have to find out the numbers of risers and volume of one step
Mathematically it ca be represented by this way,
                          No. of Risers Required = Total height ( H ) / Riser = 10 / 0.5 = 20 Nos.
                  volume of one step = Area * Breadth of staircase = ( 1/2*0.5*1) * 4 = 1 cuft.
Now,                              Volume of Total Steps = 20 Nos. * 1 = 20 cuft.
Now, We have to find out the volume of waist slab whose length is L = 21'6" = 21.5', Thickness ( t ) = 6" = 0.5' and bredth of staircase ( B ) = 4'
                       Volume of waist slab ( V ) = L*t*B = 21.5*0.5*4 = 43 cuft.
Now, Total volume of staircase = Volume of waist slab + volume of steps = 20 + 43 = 63 cuft.
But, this is the wet volume of concrete, we have to convert it into its dry volume,
                  Dry Volume of staircase = 1.54 * Wet volume of stairecase = 1.54*63 = 97.02 cuft.
This is the dry volume of staircase, when we are going to wet volume multiplied by 1.54, it will going to convert Dry volume automatically. remember this key points always keep in your mind.now we have to do the grade of concrete in this staircase suppose cement : sand : aggregate ratio is 1 : 2 : 4
mathematically,  cement :sand: Aggregate = 1 : 2 : 4 
                      Total parts = 1 + 2 +4 = 7 parts
                           Cement  = 1/7 * 97.02 = 1386 cuft = 13.86 / 1.25 = 11.08 Nos of bags
       * divided by 1.25 means that it is converted into Nos. of bags automatically. remember this key points                 
                            Sand    = 2 / 7 * 97.02 = 27.72 cuft.
                            Aggregate = 4 / 7 * 97.02 = 55.44 cuft.
